According to the belief of Hindu religion, the holy festival of Navratri starts from the Pratipada of Ashwin month which continues for nine days. Every day nine different forms of Matarani are worshiped and worshiped by the devotees with their faith and belief. So Mother Goddess removes all his sorrows and grants him happiness and prosperity. Navratri is a festival of yoga and meditation which is celebrated with restraint, fasting, rules and devotion. According to mythological belief, this festival was started by Lord Shri Ram. Lord Shri Ram worshiped Goddess Durga on the beach with full devotion for nine days, pleased with which the mother granted a boon to Shri Ram, as a result of which the Lord conquered Lanka and killed Ravana.

2.Brahmacharini :- The second form of Maa Navadurga is known as Brahmacharini, who performed rigorous penance to get Lord Shiva as her husband, hence she was named Brahmacharini and is worshiped on the second day.
दधाना करपद्माभ्यामक्षमाला-कमण्डलू । देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा॥
3.Chandraghata :- He was named Chandraghata because he wore a half moon on his head. He is worshiped on the third day of Navratri.
पिण्डजप्रवरारूढा चण्डकोपास्त्रकेर्युता। प्रसादं तनुते मह्यं चन्द्रघण्टेति विश्रुता॥
4.Kushmanda :- She was named Kushmanda because she created the universe inside her stomach. He is worshiped on the fourth day of Navratri.
सुरासम्पूर्णकलशं रुधिराप्लुतमेव च। दधाना हस्तपद्माभ्यां कूष्माण्डा शुभदाऽस्तु मे॥
5.Skandmata :- Lord Shiva's son Kartikeya is also named Skanda. Being the mother of Kartikeya, her name is also Skandamata. He is worshiped on the fifth day of Navratri.
सिंहासनगता नित्यं पद्माश्रितकरद्वया। शुभदाऽस्तु सदा देवी स्कन्दमाता यशस्विनी॥
6.Katyayini :- Being the daughter of sage Katyayan, Maa Navadurga is also named Katyayini. He is worshiped on the sixth day of Navratri.
चन्द्रहासोज्ज्वलकरा शार्दूलवरवाहना। कात्यायनी शुभं दद्याद्देवी दानव-घातिनी॥
7.Kalratri :- Mother Kalratri alone grants all the achievements obtained through sadhana at night, hence this form of Maa Navdurga is called Kalratri and she is worshiped on the seventh day.
एकवेणी जपाकर्णपूरा नग्ना खरास्थिता। लम्बोष्ठी कर्णिकाकर्णी तैलाभ्यक्तशरीरिणी॥
वामपादोल्लसल्लोहलताकण्टकभूषणा। वर्धन्मूर्धध्वजा कृष्णा कालरात्रिर्भयङ्करी॥
8.Mahagauri :- Mother Mahagauri is worshiped on the eighth day which is also called Durgashtami. Due to her bright and fair complexion she was named Mahagauri.
श्वेते वृषे समारूढा श्वेताम्बरधरा शुचिः। महागौरी शुभं दद्यान्महादेव-प्रमोद-दा॥
9.Siddhidatri :- She is worshiped on the last day of Navratri who bestows all siddhis, hence she is known as Maa Siddhidatri.
सिद्ध गन्धर्व यक्षाद्यैरसुरैरमरैरपि।सेव्यमाना सदा भूयात् सिद्धिदा सिद्धिदायिनी॥
