There is a verse in Sanskrit "यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते, रमन्ते तत्र देवताः..." meaning where women are worshipped, gods reside there. In a country where there is a tradition of worshiping women, women are becoming victims of domestic violence. This is a bitter truth which we cannot deny. Despite such strict laws, domestic violence has become common in the country.

Domestic violence can be seen as a worldwide epidemic. Being a male dominated society, women are easily harassed because many times women are not safe physically, mentally and emotionally even in their own homes. Harassment and that too by the husband or his family members comes under the category of domestic violence. Women maintaining silence on these crimes is also a major reason for the increase in these crimes because it increases the morale of the criminals and then they feel that they have a monopoly on women. Increasing dissatisfaction in the society, hunger for money, drug addiction and lack of education are also the main reasons for women oppression. Despite so many laws, there has been no promising improvement in these violence. The place of women in the society is very respectable. She handles the responsibilities of the family in many forms like mother, wife, sister, daughter etc. We cannot even imagine a society without them, but when those same sisters, daughters and daughters-in-law are tortured by their own people. Then even talking about women's safety seems meaningless. Today women are proving themselves in every field, that is why perhaps inferiority complex can be seen in men who are promoting these crimes. There is a lot of awareness among women that women are not safe on the streets, in the office, anywhere. What is needed is that the government and some social service organizations are running campaigns regarding this, which has brought awareness among women. But these crimes can be completely stopped only when every person fulfills his responsibility properly because the place of men and women in the society is equal, without one we cannot even imagine the society. It is also important that if he faces any kind of exploitation at home or workplace, he should openly oppose it. Sometimes the woman remains silent due to shyness and sometimes because of the family, due to which the morale of the criminals increases and they stop doing wrong things. must always resist
